Deal comes amid a tumultuous time for investors in global stock markets
Salem University preparing students with skills for success beyond graduation
Salem, WV, March 11th, 2021 — Salem University, an innovative provider of education for a globalized world, today announced a partnership with MyWallSt to support students with their academic and long term financial goals.
Dr. Karen Ferguson, University Provost and VP of Enrollment at Salem University says “The modern approach to personal finance we are incorporating with MyWallSt supports the University’s goal to prepare students for success beyond graduation. These are important concepts and skills our students can apply academically, professionally, and personally.”
Global markets have been swept up in a retail investing frenzy of late, with data from Bloomberg Intelligence showing that retail trading volume is nearly as big as mutual fund and hedge fund volume combined. Access to financial markets has never been greater, but with that comes the need to create investors who can make a long-term success from that access.
The partnership will provide students with a custom webinar with MyWallSt CEO and Co-founder Emmet Savage; access to personal finance content and recommendations through its Learn app, and a kick start to achieving their own personal finance goals though its OwnIt Project. MyWallSt is a financial publisher that has already helped millions of people plan towards their financial future with a suite of digital tools that make it easy to start investing.
John Tyrrell, Co-founder at MyWallSt says “We are very excited to partner with Salem University on this programme. With years of expertise and industry experience behind us, we’re confident that the digital solutions we have built for Salem University will give students a more dynamic and fulfilling learning experience. Especially at such an exciting and busy time in global markets.”
Built on tradition and focused on the future, Salem University strives to prepare global citizens with broad knowledge, marketable professional skills, and the ability to make decisions with integrity and an international perspective.
