From 1997-2012, Mr. Powell was managing director at Sanders Morris Harris, a regional investment-banking firm headquartered in Houston, Texas, with a branch in New Your City, where he resides. In 2012, when sold to Wunderlich Securities, Mr. Powell was managing director until he retired for Wall Street in 2018. He served as Chairman of Marleau, Lemire USA and Vice Chairman of Marleau, Lemire Securities, Inc., during the years 1994-1996. Prior to his employment with Marleau, Lemire, he served as a Senior Managing director in the Corporate Finance Department of Bear Stearns & Co., from 1984-1994, with responsibilities for the investment banking effort for both domestic and international. Prior to this, Mr. Powell served as Senior Vice President and Director of E.F. Hutton & Co., where he was employed in various capacities for 18 years. He is a director of Nirvana Water Science.
Mr. Powell is a graduate of Salem College and has served on the Board of Trustees since 1995.
